dose not fit 3" C channel

the finish and overall apperance of the coupler i purchased is verry good. my problem is that my trailer is constructed using std. construction type C channel for the toung and this coupler will not fit over it to be welded in place. this is probably due to diffrent dimensional standards used in con. type C channel and 3" box tubing commenly used in commerical trailer manufacturing ( my best guess). might be good to cover this point for improved customer satisfaction as many DIY trailers are built using "scrap" steel from salvage yards as mine is. ill just make it work somehow as i often do.just an FYI.
